Facebook is now actively trying to block a Facebook Friend Exporter, an additional feature of Google Chrome which allows the user to move list and contact info of their Facebook friends and use it in other services.
"Facebook is trying to block the transfer of the user's friends to other services. They begin to move the email to your friends on your profile, begin on 5 July 2011. Facebook Friend Exporter will no longer work for most users, writes Mohamed Mansour, developer of the Facebook Friend Exporter.
Facebook Friend Exporter is a simple tool that allows users to retrieve a phone number, email and other data from their Facebook friends, and directly import them into Google Contacts. Although the current version is no longer functioning, the developers promise to make it again with a different design.
According to CNET, the tool may be blocked because it has violated the Terms of Service Facebook stating "You will not collect users ' content, information, by using an automation tool like bots, without our permission,"
Google has recently also launched a Takeout, a tool that allows the user to move all their data from a variety of Google services.
Until now, the Facebook itself has not yet issued a statement on the blocking actions they perform.
