Microsoft: Sales Of WP7 Mobile Phone Still Low

Nearly a year since its launch, Microsoft CEO, Steve Ballmer acknowledged that the market share of mobile Windows Phone 7 (WP7) is still small when compared to the Android and iPhone.

As quoted from Pocket-Lint, Tuesday (12/7/2011), when addressing the event Microsoft Worldwide Partners Conference, Ballmer talked about everything related to Microsoft including Windows Phone 7.

"A Cell Phone? Our sales are still tiny, but this year it is pretty hard. But You will see many developments in the market this year, "said Ballmer.

The word that is clearly directed at Ballmer products their partnership with Nokia, Windows Phone 7. It says also that update Windows Phone 7 Mango will present on Christmas this year, with 500 new features.

Microsoft currently continue to put pressure on Google and Apple to do a lot of new announcements, as well as releasing new updates to the product line of mobile OS.

Analyst firm Gartner predicts that the market share of Windows Phone 7 will be increased to 5.2 percent in 2011. But it says that Windows Phones will not depart from the fifth rank in 2011. Predicted that Windows Phones will stay in that position until 2014.
