SAN FRANCISCO - Activision Blizzard claim if sales in the next day, a new game called Call of Duty: Black Ops has sold approximately 5.6 million copies.
Total sales of it have managed to provide revenue for Activision amounted to USD360 million. This figure is achieved on the first day of sales and is considered as a new record in the gaming industry.
Launched by Yahoo News, Friday (11/12/2010), analysts said if the sale is able to create Activision's market share increased in the realm of the world game. Even Activision shares on the Nasdaq also rose.
This game alone has sold for the first time in the U.S. and UK. Previous Call of Duty: Black Ops is also the game's most eagerly awaited this year.
Previously, years ago, the game Modern Warfare 2 also sold approximately 4.7 million copies within one day of sales in the U.S. and UK. Now Modern Warfare 2 has sold approximately 15 million copies in several countries, or to reach 20 million copies worldwide. Modern Warfare 2 also is a game made by Activision Blizzard.
"This is just one day so that we can not jump to conclusions. But we admit Modern Warfare 2 is a gamma-selling of all time. We're starting a good start, moment indeed now are on our side," said Activision CEO Bobby Kotick.
December, Activision will also launch World of Warcraft: Cataclysm, a multiplayer online game that currently has approximately 12 million subscribers.
