CALIFORNIA-PayPal dispute a news that mention that a group of hacker, LulzSec, has managed to break their sites, which led to the spreading of user account information from the payment gateway services to the public.
As known, the Group of hackers or simply LulzSec Lulz Security last week stated that they have been leaking information to around 62 thousand internet user account data, including PayPal, Facebook and Twitter.
"These Reports are not accurate. We want to assure you that the PayPal site absolutely not exploited or hacked, "wrote the PayPal blog, quoted in the FS Tech, Monday (8/6/2011).
"Before a group of hackers is claiming that they had attacked the sites, as well as taking the security fragile username and password. However, those password and username are not related to PayPal, "he added.
PayPal said that their security team to be wary after the news surfaced, and instantly doing monitoring to a number of accounts that have suspicious activity.
"We always keep an eye on any unofficial payments from user accounts. We do this routinely. The monitoring process will also work right away if it detects an account that is suspected, "says the PayPal.
