Australia Launches Monitoring Of Greenhouse Gases Site
SYDNEY-an Australia researcher launched a site that allows the public to monitor the emissions of greenhouse gases in the Earth to the South.
The Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation (CSIRO) developed a site so people can see how greenhouse gases are increasing due to human activities. Such as quoted from AFP, Monday (8/6/2011
The Measurement shows how an increase in the concentration of carbon dioxide in the Earth's atmosphere, which the majority are caused by burning fossil fuels and the destruction of forests," said Paul Fraser, scientists from CSIRO.
Addressed in www.csiro.au/greenhouse-gases, this site has an interactive graph showing the level of carbon dioxide, nitrous oxide and methan.
In addition, the chemical substances that erode ozone layer also measured, such as halon and chlorofluorocarbons. The site is updated regularly every month..
Data taken from the air samples collected by CSIRO and the Bureau of Meteorology's Cape Grim, Tasmania. While for the northern hemisphere samples collected and supervised by the Mauna Loa Observatory in Hawaii.
"The graph we install on a site allows users to test the evidence of climate change that is currently going on," said Fraser.
This is an important information for deciding global measures needed to avoid greenhouse gases reach the level of harm
