NEW YORK - America On-Line (AOL), media companies and global Internet services in United States, is rumored to be one company that will buy Yahoo's site.
In addition to AOL, financial firms like Silver Lake Partners and Blackstone Group are among companies that are in talks to buy Yahoo.
Lately, the market value of AOL itself is still under Yahoo, approximately one-tenth of the market value of Yahoo. Similarly, as quoted by Mashable, Friday (10/15/2010).
The news that AOL is targeting Yahoo apparently has been circulating in recent days. Some sources even say, it was Yahoo that tries to buy AOL. The two companies have not wanted to make a statement at this time.
According to sources, the parties had not been involved in the Yahoo talks. AOL's involvement in this effort will make Yahoo may never be officially approached by other interested companies.
Yahoo itself establishes a mechanism in 2001 that aims to prevent companies not to be taken by their competitors, until two years ago Microsoft was intending to buy Yahoo, but failed.
