BERLIN - The Company Internet giant, Google, said that more than 244,000 Germans have requested that their homes are not visible on Street View application. The application is scheduled to be launched in Germany next month.
Google claims that the refusal amounted to about 3 percent of the total homes in 20 major cities in England. The pictures of the house will also be featured, as part of the mapping program from Street View. Similarly, as quoted by the Associated Press on Thursday (10/21/2010).
"The high number of objects on Google Street View shows that residents want to be free to decide where the data from those who wish to be published on the internet," said Peter Schaar, head of data protection in Germany.
Authorities in Germany have asked Google to allow its citizens can ask Google for a house they do not appear on Street View on the grounds that the private residence of putting images on the Internet that violates the privacy of individuals.
Street View is so far available for 23 countries. Germany is the only state where residents can request that their homes are not shown, before the application is launched.
Google claims that all incoming requests will be processed, but does not guarantee that all the incoming requests can be processed all. For example there are some addresses given incomplete writing.
Later, Google also will provide a tool for everyone who works to 'eliminate' appearance of their homes on Google Street View. Tool will be available simultaneously so Street View was launched.
Street View has got a lot of protest in Germany, South-Korea, and several other countries. This is because the fear of people who do not want their privacy be published on the internet.
